How is your homeschool year so far?

How is your year going so far?  Ours has been a bit shakey.  But we are working out the kinks.  Rooster has a new schedule and we are working with it.

We have gone to a four day school week.  One day for park, field trip, etc.  It seems to be a better fit.

But we notice the more flexible we are, the easier it goes.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day.

  1. Our children are all grown, when we did home school it was wonderful because my hubby works in retail and his hours are never the same everyday, not even every week. We would have field trips to the park, to the library and to where ever the Lord took us. Hubby and I would take day trips to local places in our state. We both have lived in this state and never saw any of the site while were grew up.

We visited an Amish community several times, Lincoln park, science museums, antique malls, etc. We would tell stories of history and biblical history to our children, so that outings were also lessons.

God had shown me a long time ago how to turn everyday events into lessons about the Christian walk, how to incorporate, math, science, Bible into what would seem lost opportunities. I was blessed to meet a woman who talked about “life lessons”, a life style of learning; Wisdom’s Way is what she called it.

We became open to lessons we would have missed if she had not opened our eyes to the lesson’s, God can teach our children and us on a daily basis. These kinds of things continue with my adult daughter and I. We share lessons on a daily bases. Developing a life style of learning is a wonderful habit to get into. A world of God opens up like one cannot imagine.
